Strong Finish on Hayes Hill Akhilan Boopathy demonstrated consistent pacing throughout the 2026 Bay to Breakers. The first two miles were extremely consistent, both completed at a 12:08 min/mile pace. During the ascent of Hayes Hill between miles 2.2 and 2.7, Akhilan maintained his focus and successfully navigated the elevation change with only a slight drop in pace to 12:23 min/mile at mile 3. This resulted in an improvement in his standings, moving up significantly in his division. In the latter part of the race, Akhilan picked up the pace considerably. The pace for mile 5 dropped to an impressive 10:19 min/mile, marking a pivotal moment in race performance. Eventually, by mile 6, he significantly improved to a 9:03 min/mile pace.
