Consistent Pace and Strong Finish In the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K race, Joe Marquez demonstrated a steady improvement in pace, cutting down from 14:04 min/mile in the first mile to 10:17 min/mile by the seventh. The most notable improvement was between miles 2 and 3, where he shaved over a minute off his split time amid the challenging Hayes Hill section. By the end of the race, Joe was running an impressive overall pace of 11:28 min/mile. Joe started strong and pushed his pace effectively, especially after the hill, moving up in his division from 1318th to 758th by mile 6.
