Consistent Effort with Key Challenges Overcome Ricena Ljubojevic of Los Altos maintained a steady pace in the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K, finishing in a time of 3:20:09. Her initial pace was a swift 16:40 min/mile, covering the first mile in 16:40. Notably, the most challenging segment appeared to be between miles 4 and 5, taking 52:46 at a pace of 52:46 min/mile. Despite this, Ricena demonstrated resilience, notably improving in the final mile with a notable pace recovery down to 23:24 min/mile. It was interesting to see her placements improve from mile 3 to mile 6. Consistent effort across the course, especially considering the steep Hayes Hill starting at mile 2.2, should be highlighted as a learning point for future races. Emphasizing an even pace strategy, particularly on hilly sections, could further enhance her performance.
