Strong Finish with Notable Improvement Carmen Wong demonstrated a commendable performance in the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K race with an overall time of 1:29:34. Her execution over the 7.45-mile course resulted in an average pace of 12:01 min/mile. Noteworthy was her significant improvement at mile 6, clocking a split pace of 10:25 min/mile and improving her position in her age division F40-49 from 375th at mile 5 to 298th by mile 6. Despite the challenging Hayes Hill affecting her pace at mile 3, Carmen effectively utilized the latter portion of the race to regain momentum. From mile 1 to mile 2, she quickened her pace from 13:00 to 11:40 min/mile, which set a solid foundation. Post-Hayes Hill, she continuously improved her split times, ending with a 10:36 min/mile pace at mile 7. To further enhance her performance, Carmen might focus on hill training to have a more balanced run through all portions of the race.
