Strong Finish with Improved Splits Tiana Shimizu maintained a consistent pace throughout the 2026 Bay to Breakers 15K event. She successfully navigated through the course in 1:53:45, securing an average pace of 12:20 min/mile. Notably, her pace varied with an increase to 14:49 min/mile between miles 2 and 3, possibly affected by the steep Hayes Hill, and an impressive recovery with splits as fast as 9:56 min/mile towards the end. Her performance showed marked improvement in the latter stages, which indicates a well-paced recovery. Particularly encouraging is her consistency and determination through challenging uphill sections and her ability to push towards a stronger finish. Her placements in gender and division reflected her solid performance among competitors, placing her in the top third of her age group. Tiana might consider focusing on her hill running strategy to prevent pace erosion in future races. Great effort overall, with a solid display of endurance and pacing skills!
