Consistent Progress Ensures Strong Finish Alyssa Cadiena completed the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K with an overall time of 2:06:32 and an average pace of 16:59 min/mile. Notably improving her placement, Alyssa moved from 13,235th at the 1-mile mark to 11,168th by mile 4, before finishing 13,240th overall. Her strongest performance was between miles 4 and 5, where she recorded an impressive split time of 13:05 min/mile. Although Alyssa encountered a significant pace reduction on the steep Hayes Hill between miles 2.2 and 2.7, which impacted her split time of 29:55 for mile 2, she showed resilience and improved her pace significantly thereafter. The final mile showcases her best pace at 11:25 min/mile. It may be beneficial to focus on uphill strategies to maintain momentum in future races. Alyssa's participation also contributed to the UCSF team's overall presence in the event.
