Steady Improvement in Race Pace During the 2026 Bay to Breakers 15K Breakers Bonus, Alireza Majd from San Francisco maintained a consistent improvement in pace over the course of the race. Starting the first mile at an 11:49 min/mile pace, Alireza experienced a slow down by mile two, reaching a 14:01 min/mile pace. Notably, the uphill section on Hayes Hill likely contributed to this slower split time of 16:15 min/mile. After this section, Alireza regained composure, showing a marked improvement despite the earlier challenge.
