Consistent Pace with a Strong Finish Finn James demonstrated impressive pacing during the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K event, maintaining a steady performance with an overall elapsed pace of 5:35 min/mile. He consistently held a strong early pace, with remarkable consistency in his first two miles clocking in precisely at 5:37 min/mile each. Despite a slight dip in his performance on the third mile, where his pace fell to 6:15 min/milelikely due to the incline at Hayes HillFinn quickly adjusted. Notably, Finn's acceleration after conquering Hayes Hill was significant, particularly from miles five to seven, where his split times improved significantly, achieving his best split pace of 5:09 min/mile at the sixth mile. He successfully advanced to a notable position, moving up to 26th overall by the sixth mile. His strong finish contributed to placing 30th overall among 26,545 participants. For future races, maintaining that later race momentum throughout will further enhance results.
