Solid Pace with Strong Finish Bryan Matsumoto from Berkeley, CA, showcased a consistent effort in the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K. Starting with an 11:31 min/mile split for the first mile, he maintained a steady early pace with a slight increase during the second mile. Hayes Hill, between 2 and 3 miles, saw a slower mile at 13:28 min/mile, but Bryan maintained composure to recover well in the subsequent miles. Notably impressive was his robust finish, with the final two miles running at a split pace of 10:44 and 9:35 min/mile, respectively. Bryan finished the race with an overall time of 1:25:55, placing him 983rd in his division and 2985th among male participants. His strong finish indicates effective endurance strategies and pacing, particularly after challenging sections of the course.
