Consistent Pacing with a Strong Finish Joy Katzburg displayed remarkable consistency and improvement in the 2026 Bay to Breakers. Maintaining an almost unwavering pace through the first five miles (between 11:49 and 11:53 min/mile), she held her position even on the notorious Hayes Hill from mile 2.2 to 2.7 miles. Joy's strategy was evident as she surged in the latter stage with significantly faster splits: clocking an impressive 10:07 min/mile in mile 6 and 8:59 min/mile in the final mile. Overall, Joy completed the 12K event in 1:22:15 with an overall pace of 11:02 min/mile, finishing 318th out of 1839 participants and 164th in her gender category. The notable improvement in miles 6 and 7 demonstrates potential for future races.
