Consistent Effort with Notable Placement Improvements Carolyn Geyer's performance in the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K was characterized by consistent pacing, particularly impressive given the steep Hayes Hill challenge between miles 2.2 and 2.7. Carolyn maintained a steady start with a 13:21 min/mile pace for the first two miles. However, the ascent on Hayes Hill caused the pace to drop to 15:22 min/mile for mile 3. Despite this, she improved her positioning significantly, moving up from 8,531st place overall to 6,208th place. After overcoming the hill, Carolyn demonstrated good resilience, gradually regaining her pace in the final stages. Her last two miles showed determination, clocking 14:07 and finally 13:46 min/mile. This consistent performance allowed her to finish 10,014th overall out of 24,523 participants and 1,502nd in her division. Focusing on maintaining pacing during hills could further enhance her performance in future races. Excellent effort, Carolyn!
