Consistent Pace with a Strong Finish Gavin Madole demonstrated consistent pacing throughout the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K. Starting off with a 10:19 min/mile in the first mile, he maintained a steady performance, adjusting well to the course challenges. The third mile posed some difficulty, reflected in a split of 13:55 min/mile, coinciding with the steep Hayes Hill section of the course. Despite this, Gavin showed resilience and improved his pace steadily thereafter. Notably, the final splits showcased a strong finish, with a mile pace under 10 minutes in the last segment (9:56 min/mile). He finished the race in 1:26:35 with an overall pace of 11:37 min/mile. His placement of 199th in the M19 & Under division indicates a competitive field. Gavin's improvement in pace as the race progressed is commendable. Continuing to work on maintaining pace on inclines could further enhance his performance in future events.
