Consistent Effort with Strong Finish Kristine Holz tackled the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K with a disciplined performance. Starting off with a steady pace of 20:46 min/mile in the first mile, she maintained consistency, reaching the halfway point with an overall pace of 22:13 min/mile after 3 miles. Her climb on Hayes Hill, between miles 2.2 and 2.7, affected her pace slightly, but she demonstrated resilience by progressively improving her position in the division from 1132 to 866 by the 3rd mile. In the final sections of the race, Kristine gained momentum, with her fastest mile coming in at 19:36 min/mile, and successfully narrowing her place among her division. She concluded the race with an overall time of 2:43:15 and an average pace of 21:54 min/mile. Her notable split improvements in miles 5 and 6 are indicative of efficiently leveraging her remaining energy. For future races, analyzing strategies for tackling climbs could be beneficial.
