Consistent Effort with Strategic Finish Ali Ekin Gurgen, representing San Francisco's PAC RUN CLUB, maintained a steady start with the first two miles clocking in at 11:36 min/mile. The most challenging segment was the third mile, which included Hayes Hill, where his pace slowed to 16:55 min/mile. He lost some places here, but his overall position improved in the next miles, showing resilience and strategic pacing. He regained momentum significantly over the remaining distance. Notably, he clocked his fastest mile between the 5th and 6th markers with a pace of 9:47 min/mile. This helped him improve his placement back to 3667th overall by mile 7. Ali completed the 12K event in 1:25:58 with an overall pace of 11:32 min/mile, finishing 698th in the M20-29 division. Continuing to work on maintaining pace consistency on hills would make him an even stronger competitor in future races.
