Consistent Start, Strong Finish Chad maintained a consistent pace in the early miles, running the first two miles in 12:19 per mile. During the ascent of Hayes Hill, there was a moderate slowdown with mile 3 covered in 13:32. This section caused a re-positioning, reflecting in improved placements overall, moving from 5872 to 5260 by mile 6. Mile 6 showed a significant acceleration, clocking in at 11:21. This strategic shift indicates effective energy management and an ability to tackle inclines. Chad completed the 7.45-mile run in 1:33:20, averaging a pace of 12:31 per mile. Noteworthy is his significant recovery after the hill and maintaining that momentum through to the finish. The final placement in the M40-49 division was 732 out of a field of 24523 participants. Focusing on maintaining even more consistent splits in future endeavors, particularly over challenging segments, could further enhance overall performance. Excellent job maintaining pace throughout challenging course sections.
