Her pace initially slowed significantly from mile 1 to mile 2, reaching a split pace of 29:41 min/mile. Notably, from mile 6 onward, her pace improved, achieving her best split pace of 11:33 min/mile at mile 7. Overall, she showed resilience by moving up in placement within the Female 50-59 Division, initially in 83rd place and climbing to 65th by mile 7. Although her final placement was 85th in her division, her determination was evident. As a member of The Unofficial Run Club, participating in this event in San Ramon, CA, she demonstrated capacity for improvements in her mid-race strategy, particularly after Hayes Hill, where there's potential to maintain a steadier pace throughout.
