Progressive Pace and Strong Finish Frederick's performance at the 2026 Bay to Breakers 15K event showcased an impressive improvement in pacing and placement over the course of the race. He started with a 14:02 min/mile pace for the first mile, finishing the first split at 3141st place overall. Notably, he faced a significant slowdown in the second mile, with a 29:29 min/mile pace, which included a steep segment along Hayes Hill. From the sixth mile onwards, Frederick's numbers reflect a consistent acceleration, peaking with an 11:11 min/mile pace in the seventh mile. This progressive improvement carried him to finish with an overall pace of 16:07 min/mile. Interestingly, this strategic pacing helped him climb in his division, finishing 127th in the Male 50-59 category. Focusing on maintaining consistent splits in the early miles could further elevate Frederick's future race performances. Great resilience shown on the course!
