Strong Finish Despite Hayes Hill Challenge Marina sustained a consistent pace initially, starting with an 11:23 min/mile. In particular, the 2 to 3-mile segment at 13:35 min/mile indicated the impact of Hayes Hill, known for its steepness. Notably, her placement improved significantly, moving from 1955th in gender position after the first mile to 951st by mile sixa testament to her resilience and strategic racing. A split pace of 8:16 min/mile between miles 5 and 6 marked a strong comeback after that challenging hill. By the end of the race, her average pace was 10:45 min/mile, placing her 419th in her division. The final elapsed time was 1:20:05 over 7.45 miles. Boosting her pace in the latter part of the race was effective in securing a better position, as evidenced by the placement improvement from overall 4986th at the early miles to 3709th by the finish. Focusing on maintaining a more even pace through hilly sections could yield even stronger results in future races.
