Impressive Pace Regulation with Strong Finish Carlos Garibay's performance at the 2026 Bay to Breakers 15K Breakers Bonus revealed consistent improvement and pacing strategy. Starting with a split pace of 22:21 min/mile over the first two miles, Carlos significantly improved his pace by the third mile to 12:23 min/mile. This marked shift indicated an adjustment strategy post the challenging Hayes Hill, showing his capability to adapt during race conditions. From mile four to the finish, Carlos maintained consistent improvements. His pace sharpened progressively: 11:15 min/mile at mile four, down to an impressive 5:24 min/mile by the final mile. This enabled him to advance from 2789th to 1771st in overall placement. Maintaining an overall pace of 12:31 min/mile, Carlos finished strong, showcasing endurance and tenacity, while also displaying a strong advancement in placement within his division from 592nd to 451st. For future races, earlier adaptation of the steady pacing strategy could yield even better performance.
