Consistent Pacing and Strong Finish Niall "Cheez-It" McDermott showcased remarkable consistency and performance at the 2026 Bay to Breakers event. His overall time clocked in at an impressive 41:15 for the 12K distance, maintaining a strong average pace of 5:32 min/mile. Notably, Niall led his division, Male 19 & Under, throughout the race and secured the first place position. His division performance is evident with a noteworthy time of 5:14 min/mile during the sixth mile. Throughout the race, Niall maintained an excellent rhythm, particularly from mile four onward, where his efficiency shone through. His split times from mile four to seven demonstrated marked improvement, culminating in one of his fastest splits (5:13) at the seventh mile. While Niall improved his placement during the race, slightly slipping in overall placement after Hayes Hill could be a focus for future races. Nialls strong finish shows potential for continued success in maintaining pace and control.
