Consistent Improvement Throughout the Race Eddy Chiang, representing Canadian Solar USA, demonstrated a perseverant performance at the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K with an overall time of 1:59:18, covering a distance of 7.45 miles at an average pace of 16:00 min/mile. Starting at a 12:52 min/mile pace for the first mile, Eddy navigated the steep segment of Hayes Hill between the 2.2 and 2.7-mile marks, resulting in slower splits in the second and third miles, reaching up to a 19:23 min/mile pace. Despite the challenge, Eddy managed a significant pace recovery, reaching a strong 13:39 min/mile pace between miles 4 and 5. This consistent improvement indicates Eddy's endurance capabilities, as evidenced by a stable pace in the latter miles, maintaining between 16:14 and 16:46 min/mile. Maintaining this momentum can set a foundation for future improvements without substantial pace drops when encountering course obstacles like Hayes Hill. Well done, Eddy!
