Consistent Effort with a Strong Finish Steve Saul showed remarkable consistency throughout his 9.22-mile race, averaging a pace of 7:12 min/mile and finishing in a solid elapsed time of 1:06:27. Notably, his initial splits were steady, holding an 8:00 min/mile pace even during the challenging ascent between miles 2.2 and 2.7. His strategy paid off, as he improved his position significantly from 116th to an impressive 55th overall. The most notable improvement came after mile 4 where Steve increased his pace substantially, running splits of 6:37 and 6:33 minutes per mile for miles 6 and 7 respectively, ascending to 54th place overall. This surge helped him finish 10th in his age and gender division.
