Eschelles Steady Finish with Strong Improvement Eschelle Stapps performance in the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K displayed commendable pacing and positioning. Starting off with a first-mile split of 11:34 min/mile, she maintained a consistent pace even through the challenging Hayes Hill between miles 2.2 and 2.7. After the hill, there was a noticeable impact on her third-mile split, which clocked at 13:50, with the steep gradient influencing this segment. Positively, Eschelle recovered well after the incline, achieving her best split time of 11:05 min/mile in the final stretch from mile 6 to mile 7, showing a strong finish with a boost in pace. Her improvement in placements, particularly from mile 5 to the race finish, was noteworthy. She jumped from 5590th to 4793rd place overall. It would be advantageous to focus on hill training to maintain consistency in pace and position throughout all segments of the race. Keep up the strong finishes!
