Steady Improvement in Pace and Position Eloise Burtis, representing team LIGMA, completed the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K in 2:06:57, achieving an average pace of 17:02 min/mile. Starting conservatively, she maintained a consistent 20:17 min/mile pace for the first two miles, placing 15494th overall. The climb from mile 2 to 3 saw her pace drop to 27:38 min/mile, a likely effect of navigating the challenging Hayes Hill. Despite this, Eloise improved her position significantly by mile 3, climbing to 12549th place. Encouragingly, the second half of the race showed Eloise gaining momentum. After the hill, she improved her pace, running the final mile at 10:12 min/mile, which helped her overall position to 13299th. Notably, she advanced 1043 positions overall from mile 5 to the finish. This improvement indicates strong endurance and capability in the latter stages of the race. Working on more consistent pacing earlier could optimize her race strategy and performance.
