Consistent Performance with a Strong Finish Grace Howie's performance in the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K showcased an impressive blend of consistency and resilience. Starting with steady miles at an 11:31 min/mile pace for the first two splits, Grace successfully maneuvered the steep Hayes Hill between miles 2.2 and 2.7, despite her pace adjusting to 13:54 min/mile in that section. This adjustment saw her overall position improve significantly by the 6-mile mark.
