Consistent Start with a Steady Finish Aya Snell delivered a balanced performance at the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K event. Maintaining a consistent pace of 15:50 min/mile for the first two miles set a solid foundation. However, there was a noticeable slowdown during the third and fourth miles, with split paces at 36:00 and 35:47 min/mile, respectively. These segments coincided with Hayes Hill, possibly affecting performance due to its steepness. The latter part of the race saw improvement in pacing, highlighted by a quicker pace in the final mile at 20:54 min/mile, demonstrating resilience and a strong finish. Overall, Aya completed the race in 3:16:54, averaging a pace of 26:25 min/mile. Ending up in the 2905th place in her division shows participation in a competitive field. Future training with a focus on hill strategy could provide even better results. Excellent effort representing The Taco Cats!
