Pacing Adjustments Lead to Strong Finish Reed Evans maintained a consistent pace of 11:34 min/mile for the first two miles, securing steady positions in his overall, gender, and division standings. Notably, the steep section of Hayes Hill between miles 2 and 3 presented a challenge, with the split pace dropping to 30:43 min/mile. Post-Hayes Hill, another segment showed a pace of 31:14 min/mile. Offering room for reflection, improving hill strategy could be beneficial. Despite the challenging hill, Reed improved his pace significantly in the later stages, showcasing remarkable acceleration with the fastest split recorded at 7:51 min/mile in the final stretch.
