Strong Start, Slowed Midcourse, Robust Finish Raymond showcased impressive initial splits in the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K, recording a swift 5:49 min/mile pace for the first mile and a slightly improved 5:40 min/mile for the second. Initial efforts were solid, maintaining a consistent position close within the top 60 male runners. Notably, mile three saw a slowdown to 6:20 min/mile but still reflected a strong performance relative to early metrics. Post mile three, there's a significant drop in pace during Hayes Hill, as reflected by a 37:03 min/mile split for the fourth mile. Recovery, however, was evident as Raymond improved progressively through subsequent miles, notably bringing his pace down to 9:14 min/mile by mile six and maintaining it for the finish.
