Steady Progress and Strong Finish Alice began the race with a consistent pace, completing the first mile in 10:21. Her pace slightly dropped during the second mile to 11:38 and further slowed in the third mile coinciding with the challenging Hayes Hill section, reaching a split pace of 12:02. Notably, despite this challenge, Alice improved her position by 42 places in her gender category, which demonstrates determination and effective effort management on inclines. The latter part of the race showcased a significant comeback. In mile five, Alices pace increased to 13:02, but she rebounded impressively during the sixth mile, clocking a positive split of 10:47. She maintained that momentum into the seventh mile with a time of 10:36. Overall, Alice achieved an average pace of 11:22 min/mile, completing the 12K in 1:24:46. She finished strong, moving up nearly 500 places overall compared to earlier splits, showcasing effective strategy adjustments and resilience. Consistent pacing from start to finish will be beneficial in future races.
