Consistent Improvement Across Miles Sean Milich, running in the 2026 Bay to Breakers, completed the 12K with a time of 1:46:34, averaging a 14:18 min/mile pace. Notably, he showed consistent pacing improvement early in the race, particularly between miles 1 and 2, where his split pace improved from 14:34 min/mile to 12:35 min/mile. Another significant improvement was observed in mile 6, with his split time dropping to an impressive 11:31 min/mile, the fastest pace of the race. Although there was a slower segment between miles 2 and 3, with a split of 17:49 min/mile caused by navigating Hayes Hill, Sean managed to regain momentum in the later stages. By the conclusion of the race, he successfully climbed the ranks, finishing in the top third of his division. As a member of team UCSF, his performance serves as a solid foundation for future races, with particular strengths visible in post-hill recovery and steady pacing.
