The pace during this segment understandably slowed, resulting in a 23:37 min/mile split. Encouragingly, Jack picked up speed in the latter parts of the race, cutting his pace to 13:02 min/mile by mile six. This improvement is commendable, considering the dynamic challenges of the course. The overall pace for the entire race was 16:49 min/mile, reflecting Jack's ability to adjust and pick up speed after the initial slower segments. He finished 6,081st among male competitors, which highlights a solid performance despite the early challenges. Continuing to focus on strategies for pacing might yield even stronger results next time.
