Steady Split Improvement with a Strong Finish Edmund Tesoro demonstrated a consistent performance at the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K. Starting with a pace of 11:21 min/mile, he showed measured improvements in his splits, notably reducing his pace to 10:21 min/mile by mile 6. His average overall pace was 11:00 min/mile, completing the race in 1:22:00. The challenging Hayes Hill between miles 2.2 and 2.7 led to a temporary pace increase to 12:02 min/mile, yet he managed to recover efficiently. Edmund's strategic pacing helped him overcome a tough segment and improve his overall position, particularly notable in the M50-59 division where he progressed from 285th to 231st after the third mile, although finishing 312th by the end. Continuing to fine-tune recovery after challenging sections, such as hill climbs, will further enhance future performances. Great job, Edmund, and representing UCSF with determination!
