Consistent Performance with Late Surge Shane Petrites maintained an impressive pace throughout the "2026 Bay to Breakers," completing the 15K Breakers Bonus in 1:24:58 with an overall pace of 9:12 min/mile. His splits started at a steady 9:38 for the first mile and progressively improved, especially from mile six to nine, where his pace quickened. Notably, the ninth-mile split was the fastest at 8:11 min/mile, showing a strong finish with efficient energy management. Shane's placement experienced variation, starting at 561st overall and climbing to 405th by mile four. Although the climb on Hayes Hill at mile two to three saw a slight slowdown with a split pace of 10:06, he recovered quickly and maintained competitive pacing afterward. Ending in 468th place out of 4217 participants, Shane showed a solid effort and represented UCSF well, particularly in the M40-49 division, where he placed commendably at 97th.
