Steady Improvement Demonstrated Through Race Splits Shane Petrites displayed consistent performance improvements throughout the 2026 Bay to Breakers race. His initial mileage was completed with a 9:38 min/mile pace. Notably, there was a dip in pace at the third mile with a time of 10:06 min/mile attributed to navigating Hayes Hill. However, Shane managed an impressive recovery, achieving a 9:17 min/mile by the fourth mile and further enhancing his speed with a swift 8:15 min/mile during the ninth mile. Throughout the race's progression, Shane adeptly improved his standing from 550th position overall at the outset to 450th by the race conclusion. Specifically, within his division (M40-49), Shane ascended from 111th to finish in the 96th position.
