Outstanding Pace with Top Division Finish Tomohiro Ueno delivered a strong performance in the 2026 Bay to Breakers, finishing the 15K Breakers Bonus with an overall time of 59:29 and an impressive average pace of 6:27 min/mile. He placed 11th overall, 10th among males, and secured the top spot in the M40-49 division, out of 3901 participants. His first two miles were consistent, each at a 6:52 min/mile pace, but he notably sped up as the race progressed. The improvement in Tomohiro's pace became evident post-Hayes Hill, with a remarkable split in mile 6 at 5:46 min/mile, one of his fastest during the race. Maintaining a strong finish, he completed mile 7 in 5:43 min/mile. Although there was a minor pace dip in mile 8 to 7:09 min/mile, he swiftly regained momentum in mile 9 with a pace of 5:49 min/mile. Excellent pacing adjustments and strategic surges contributed to his standout performance and division victory.
