Significant Mid-Race Improvement on Hayes Hill JD Coyne showcased several moments of persistence during the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K. Notably, he showed resilience around the third mile, coinciding with the challenging Hayes Hill section. During this portion, although his pace decreased to 27:40 min/mile, he made a strong comeback afterwards. His pace improved substantially post-Hayes Hill, with the following mile recording a significant quickening to 18:49 min/mile, showing his ability to recover well. As the race progressed, JDs pace continued to improve, eventually reaching his fastest split of 10:21 min/mile between miles 6 and 7. Additionally, JD was able to improve his placement significantly in the latter stages of the race, moving up in the ranks from 11880 overall to 9171 by the seventh mile. These improvements demonstrate his strong drive and stamina, making for a commendable finish.
