Consistent Pace with Strong Intermediate Splits Mara Olson showcased a remarkable performance at the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K Centipede race. Through her seven splits, Mara maintained a notably consistent pace, averaging a 6:19 min/mile. Her early starts were strong with initial splits of 6:09 and 6:16, helping her secure one of the top positions in her gender. A brief slowdown was observed during the third mile, clocking in at a 6:57 pace, which coincides with the elevation challenge of Hayes Hill. Despite the pace variation in the third mile, Mara expertly regained momentum. Her standout split was a swift 6:04 pace between miles 5 and 6, which contributed to a strong finish. Finishing with an impressive overall time of 47:05, Mara ranked 13th among females in a field of 1839 participants. Representing the Peninsula Disco Club, Mara continued to demonstrate determination and resilience throughout the course.
