Impressive Pace Consistency with Strong Hill Performance Marissa Ferrante from Menlo Park showcased a remarkable consistency in pacing throughout the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K race. She completed the course in 47:03, averaging a pace of 6:18 min/mile. The standout performance was on Hayes Hill between 2.2 and 2.7 miles, where despite the incline, she maintained a competitive pace, completing the third mile in 6:53, which improved her standing significantly as seen in her placement jump. Notably, Marissa excelled in her age division, achieving 3rd place among women aged 30-39. Her finishing stats were impressive, placing 11th in the female gender category. Her impressive splits especially from mile 5 (6:25) onwards demonstrate her ability to push through the latter part of the race, concluding her final mile in an impressive 6:02. A review of her early race pacing might provide opportunities for even more strategic pacing in future races. Great work representing the Peninsula Disco Club!
