Effective Pacing with Strong Finish Alana maintained a consistent pace throughout the race, stepping up her performance towards the end. Notably, by the 3-mile mark, Alana improved her position significantly, moving from an overall place of 4610 to 2728. Her split pace at mile 3 dropped to 11:25 min/mile, a remarkable recovery after ascending Hayes Hill, which affected her pace on the 4th mile. Her pace fluctuated a bit, but she ultimately closed strong with a 9:53 min/mile at the 7th-mile split. Although Alana's overall place was 5157, her performance within her division and gender categories was impressive. She placed 317th in the F40-49 division out of all female participants. Her finishing time was 1:27:14 for a 7.45-mile distance, achieving an average pace of 11:42 min/mile. Focusing on maintaining her pace on inclines may enhance her future race performance.
