Consistency and Recovery Shine in the Middle Miles Bakari Smith completed the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K with a final time of 49:58, maintaining an impressive average pace of 6:42 min/mile. The first mile was completed in 6:38, setting a strong tone for the race. Notably, the challenging stretch between 2.2 and 2.7 miles, which included Hayes Hill, saw a slight slowing to a 7:15 min/mile pace at mile 3.
