Steady Start with a Strong Finish Kristine maintained a consistent pace at the beginning of the Bay to Breakers race, clocking in identical split paces of 11:54 min/mile for her first two miles. During the challenging section from 2.2 to 2.7 miles, her pace was understandably slower, with a split of 16:23 min/mile. Subsequent splits saw a gradual return towards a faster pace, with a final mile of 10:45 min/mile, showcasing a strong finish. Her overall elapsed time for the 7.45-mile race was 1:36:52, giving her an average pace of 13:00 min/mile. Kristine's positioning improved notably towards the end as well, finishing 5990th overall from 24523 participants and scaling back from 7401 early in the race. Her performance in the F40-49 division saw her finish in 542nd place. Future training could perhaps focus on maintaining strength throughout the mid-section of the race to optimize performance gains. Great effort overall!
