Steady Effort on Hayes Hill and Beyond Haylee Klingler maintained a consistent pace throughout the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K Centipede. Her strongest speed was showcased in the first two miles, with identical splits of 25:50 min/mile. As Hayes Hill approached between miles 2.2 and 2.7, the pace slightly decreased to 32:35 min/mile, before further slowing to 43:35 min/mile by the fourth mile. Despite the overall drop, Haylee's pace improved significantly in the final mile run at 17:20 min/mile, a commendable finish to the race. Crossing the finish line in 3:38:58, Haylee placed 1538th overall and 795th among female participants. Her average pace for the race was 29:23 min/mile. She represented the AA Alcoholic Avengers from San Bruno, CA. Although her placing dropped during the mid-race sections, the marked improvement in the last segment indicates she reserves her energy effectively for the concluding part of the race.
