Consistent Improvement in Splits Juan Martinez Torres showcased a steady improvement throughout the 2026 Bay to Breakers race. Starting with a 17:32 min/mile pace in the first mile, he gradually improved his rhythm, achieving a stronger 23:08 min/mile pace by the seventh mile. His best split pace occurred between miles 6 and 7, clocking in at 20:58, which notably advanced his placement. While his overall finish was at 16,728 out of 24,386 participants, Juan notably performed well in his age group, M20-29. By keeping consistent paces despite the challenge of Hayes Hill, which he crossed between miles 2 and 3, Juan was able to maintain a place of 1,368 in his division towards the end.
