Consistent Finish With Strong Close Tory Herbert demonstrated consistency amidst the course's demands at the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K. Initially, she maintained a steady pace with her first mile clocked at 11:16 min/mile. As she progressed to the second mile, she marginally improved her pace to 11:10 min/mile. Despite the challenge faced between miles two and four, notably with an average pace shift to 12:43 min/mile in mile four, Tory persisted and displayed strategic pacing. The latter part of her race showed notable improvement. Mile five was a turning point with a pace of 10:03 min/mile. Her most impressive effort came in mile six with a split pace of 8:59 min/mile, one of her fastest segments. By the race's conclusion, she secured an overall elapsed pace of 11:07 min/mile, finishing with a time of 1:22:51. Positive pacing strategy in the latter half greatly contributed to a solid finish for Tory.
