Steady Progress with a Strong Finish Francis Kim from Burlingame, CA, demonstrated consistent pacing in the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K event. With an overall time of 1:16:14 and an aggregate pace of 10:13 min/mile for the 7.45-mile race, Francis showed solid endurance throughout. Early race pacing was consistent, starting with a 10:51 min/mile split at mile 1 and improving to a 9:35 min/mile split at mile 5, showcasing adaptability and stamina. Particularly noteworthy was the strategic recovery from the challenging Hayes Hill section, which impacted the mile 3 split at 11:29 min/mile. Afterward, Francis accelerated to complete the 7th mile with an impressive 9:00 min/mile pace. Ending in 2035th place overall among male participants and achieving 295th in his division by mile 7, his performance was commendable. Working on improving uphill pace could improve future race performance even further. Excellent participation under the Visa Fun Runners team.
