Consistent Effort with Strong Finish Katya Schwiegershausen participated in the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K and delivered a consistently paced performance. Her opening mile was logged at an 11:19 min/mile pace, matching the second mile exactly. The pace slightly increased during the third mile to 12:35 min/mile as she tackled Hayes Hill. Interestingly, her position improved after the hill, moving from 575th in her division to 451st in the fourth mile. The final splits revealed a noteworthy improvement. The split for the fifth mile was her fastest, at a pace of 10:50 min/mile, followed by an impressive 9:34 min/mile for the sixth. Katya finished the race with an overall pace of 10:56 min/mile, completing the 12K in 1:21:32. Her ability to accelerate after a challenging section demonstrated strong endurance.
