Steady Pace and Strong Finish John McCloskey from Davis, CA, demonstrated consistency at the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K as a member of the PAC RUN CLUB. Starting with a consistent pace of 11:34 min/mile for the first two miles, John maintained his early momentum. Hayes Hill, with its steep elevation from mile 2.2 to 2.7, saw a decrease in his pace to 14:48 min/mile. Through mile four, he kept a steady rate, clocking in at 51:34 with a 12:53 min/mile pace. Remarkably, John's strongest segments were in the latter part of the race. From miles five to seven, he progressively improved, achieving a split pace of 7:23 min/mile by mile seven. John's final position was 22nd in the M70-79 division, indicating strong competition among peers. With an overall pace of 10:59 min/mile, John completed the race in 1:21:56, showcasing not just endurance, but a strategic reserve of energy for an impressive finish.
