Consistent Pace with Strong Finish in a Crowded Field Megan Kossar maintained a consistent and steady pace throughout the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K. Notably, her performance on the challenging Hayes Hill section resulted in split times of 9:13 minutes per mile for the second and third miles. Despite a dip in placing during the middle of the race, she showcased resilience, improving her pace to 8:13 and 8:15-minute miles by miles six and seven. Her final overall elapsed pace was a solid 8:48 minutes per mile. Though the competition was fierce, Megan placed 14th in her age division (F50-59) out of 26545 participants. There was a notable advancement in race positions from a gender perspective, moving up from 252nd at mile five to 229th by the end. Despite a crowded field, her ability to conclude with stronger splits suggests an opportunity to carry this momentum and possibly adopt an earlier push in future races.
