Consistent Improvement with a Stronger Finish Jaime Quintana demonstrated steady progress at the 2026 Bay to Breakers 12K. Maintaining a consistent pace in the early miles, he started with a 12:07 min/mile for the first two splits. By the third mile, the pace slightly slowed to 12:28 min/mile, coinciding with the challenging Hayes Hill section, which is likely a factor in slowing many racers. In the latter part of the race, Jaime accelerated impressively, achieving a notable improvement. From a mid-race split pace of 12:11 min/mile at the fourth mile, he progressively quickened, with split paces dropping to 10:25 min/mile at mile five, 8:58 min/mile at mile six, and 8:42 min/mile at mile seven.
