Consistent Start with a Strong Finish Florent Gbelidji demonstrated impressive consistency during the initial stages of the race. He maintained a strong pace of 5:25 min/mile for the first two miles, securing a solid position within his division M30-39 at 5th place. The climb between 2.2 miles and 2.7 miles reflected slightly on his timing, as the mile split increased to 6:12, yet he impressively improved his standing to 3rd place in his division at mile 3. In the latter parts of the race, Florent displayed remarkable recovery. Notably, his split pace of 5:19 in the sixth mile was his quickest. Overall, Florent completed the 12K event at the 2026 Bay to Breakers in 41:41, with a commendable pace of 5:35 min/mile over 7.45 miles. His strategic adjustments in later miles show potential for even better outcomes in future races.
