Strong Start and Consistent Performance Mateo Coulson demonstrated strong early pacing by securing a position in the top three overall for the first two miles, with impressive splits of 5:50 and 6:02 per mile. The initial elevation gains on Hayes Hill slightly impacted his pace to 6:30 per mile, yet he still advanced to 2nd overall position by the 3-mile mark. His resilience in facing challenging elevation was noteworthy. Gradually, Mateo's pace stabilized, averaging around 6:40 per mile for the remaining distance. Despite slipping in overall position to 19th, he maintained a steady pace, as evidenced by his final split of 6:17 per mile. Notably, Mateo secured 2nd place in his division of M20-29. Focused training on maintaining pace during significant elevation changes could further enhance his performance. His overall time of 1:01:33 placed him 18th among male competitors. Great job maintaining composure throughout the race.
